Patient education has always been and will always be an integral part of our profession.  Not only do we have more time (30-45 min for physical therapists depending on setting) vs 8 minutes to 17 minutes of direct patient time for physicians but we see them more often (2-3x/wk for 1x/month if that).

We learned this was a huge part of success from the beginning of our education and continue to work on it daily.  Changing with the times, I have moved out from the old and in with the new.

Technology is in—

I use my IPod Touch daily to show 3-D models of TKA, RTC surgeries, etc.  Its fast, easy, cheap and just bottom line looks good.  I know I don’t need it, but wonder what can be done with the new IPad. Now that will look good.

Expensive models are out–
